Arabic Alphabet for Kids: Learning the Letters Live, Online
The Arabic alphabet has 28 letters, written right to left, and most letters change shape depending on where they sit in a word. For a child, that can feel like a lot. In a live lesson, the teacher breaks it into small, winnable steps.
How we teach the letters
- Sound first: children hear and repeat each letter, including sounds English doesn't have.
- Shape and tracing: kids trace on paper or on a shared whiteboard while the teacher watches.
- Letter families: letters that look alike (like ب ت ث) are learned together.
- Positions: beginning, middle and end forms, once the basic shapes feel easy.
- Short vowels: fatha, kasra and damma, so letters turn into syllables.
What parents can do between lessons
Five minutes of letter flashcards or tracing on most days helps more than one long session a week. Our parents' guide has simple ideas.
Once your child knows the letters, the next step is reading Arabic words. Younger learners should also see Arabic for ages 4–6.
